Volunteers often work alone with small groups of children and student teachers are left alone with the class near the end of the student teaching. The regular classroom teacher is within calling distance at all times. Since you are a volunteer and not a teacher here you would be told to call for the regular teacher at the first sign of difficulty. Our students regard the individual attention the volunteer provides as a perk and know that any misbehavior will result in the loss of that opportunity.
