I do not expect or particularly want a sub to correct papers for me. Once I had a terrible experience where a sub marked a bunch of stuff for second graders wrong with a big RED marker. The problem was that most of the ones she marked worng were correct. I had to re-do them and since it was a weekly grade that the parents were expecting to see I had to send them all home with all that marking all over them.
I don't grade everything and we often make another lesson of going over the papers together. (Especially math or reading comp.)I can't do this if you mark on the papers. I may be in the minority but I generally ask the sub NOT to correct papers.
