A friend with about 8 years experience worked at one of the parochial schools last year and made about$21,000. Unfortunately, that is about the norm for private schools around here. Magnet schools and schools in more affluent neighborhoods are good options in the public school system. Another good option is the charter schools. You haven't mentioned yet what level/subjects you're interested in. That could help narrow things down.
