I went back to school after I had kids because I knew I wanted to work with children, instead of adults who acted like children. I graduated in December of 1998 in an area that had 3 colleges pumping out teachers! You have to market yourself. I had a full time contract within days after I graduated. My hubby had to relocated due to his job and I was worried because we moved to rural New England. I thought someone would have to die before I got a job. I had two offers that summer, so I wasn't out of a job. Now, we're moving again. I have great references now, and we're moving back to the area I left. I received a phone call last week from the school I left asking me to come back. There are jobs out there and there will be in the future. Work hard in school, follow your dream, and they will come true.To those of you still looking, don't give up. I would try private schools, or a learning center to get experience rather than subbing. Just my opinion.
