I think one of the best tips anyone gave me is to take some cheap adhesive labels and make nametags of the kids' names. Not all of them leave the tags on, but some do and it really helps. Also ask where the bathroom is so you know. Someone also told me for upper grades to take "Chicken soup for the preteen soul" to read when you have a few minutes before lunch etc. And #2 is correct. Take extra stuff in case there aren't enough plans. I covered some mazes and word searches w/ clear contact paper and let the kids do those w/ dry erase markers. My daugher said it would have been easier to put it in a page protector, so that is an idea too. Good luck. I was very scared at first, but it is kind of something you just get out and do and it gets more comfortable the more you do it. I hope it goes very well for you.
