We have 30 minutes 4 days a week. One day a week is supposed to be collaborative, but it doesn't usually work out that way. We have four first grade teachers and we usually meet right after school if we need to meet collaboratively. Our planning time is to be planning time, a chance to use the copier, bathroom break, phone calls to parents, etc. Our district does have all of the first grade teachers meet once every month for two hours after school to discuss how things are going, what difficulties/issues we have, what is working.... I agree, it is very interesting to see all of the differences!
