Subjects/Predicates By Teacher

| I had the same problem. Finally I decided that it really was not developmentally appropriate. So, I stopped teaching subject predicate before the parts of a sentence. Then, after teaching the parts, the students are able to relate to them and put them into "subject" and "predicate". I also use a lot of diagramming sentences (as graphic organizers) to illustrate those concepts visually.
