Parents are not easy, even for veteran teachers. I notice that a lot of the long term teachers seem to shrug off upset parents easily. Parents still get to me although I rarely have them complain. I try to listen to their concerns and word things carefully (I think how would I feel if a teacher said this to me about my son). At the end of the day there are some unhappy yucko parents. Usually last year's teacher and the others before her had problems with them as well. Sometimes I ask those teachers for suggestions or try to limit my contact with that parent. I always try to temper bad news to the parents with good news.
