I am in my first year of being an eMINTS teacher here in Missouri. We have lots of technology in our classroom and most lessons are to be structured around inquiry based methods. I have recently done these things:
In reading our basal story was set in Russia so we went to the Enchanted Learning website and students created their own Enligh to Russian picture dictionaries. Another story was set in Alaska so I got on line and did some basic research about that state. Then I made a 15 question web quest with the sites listed and they looked up the answers. There are so many things we can do with teaching and technology if you just put your mind in that mode. Good luck!
