    In your shoes...

    Hey,
I am in exactly your position. I am really scared of taking over the class full time. I go back and forth between feeling really positive and feeling like I want to quit because I am not good at this job. For example, today was a horrible day. It was the first time I took over the entire afternoon and the kids did not behave very well because they think they can get away with it. I felt totally discouraged for awhile, but after I came home and calmed down, I thought of some positive things I had done today. I never lost my temper, I finished the lesson, even though it was difficult, and I let the kids know that when I am teaching, they must listen and respect me just as much as their regular teacher. I would recommend thinking of some things you do every day that are good and try to remember that not every lesson will work, not every day will be positive, but we are learning how to handle these days and be better tomorrow. See, I'm feeling better already! =) Hang in there, we can do it!
