Besides the usual nail file & clippers, I keep pliers, screwdrivers (flat head & phillips), allen wrench, a small hammer (all of which have been used many times), Excedrin (Tylenol just doesn't cut it for me), dark chocolate, mints, granola bars (for those missed breakfasts, lunches spent on the phone with parents and those late after school meetings), water bottles (when the machine is out), a retractable tape measure (you have no idea how many teachers have come in to borrow that one)and a small travel size baby powder (feels good on those hot sticky days without air conditioning!), change for the pop machine. I have a set of shelves behind my desk & most of my stuff is kept back there.
