Why not go with leveled texts for guided reading? Also, good literature for conversations? See Pearson Learning, Rigby, Wright, RC Owens, Steck Vaughn, Storyteller among others for leveled readers. Buy the book Matching Books to Readers by Fountas and Pinnell for title possibilities on guided reading & literature conversations. If you're wanting a great comprehensive assessment tool for reading try the Developmental Reading Assessment by J. Beaver published by Pearson Learning.
