Use what he loves... By Ely

I am a teacher of the gifted and I have encountered the same problem in students that I have had in my classroom. A good strategy to use with them is to use what they love to do and tie it into whatever is being taught. If he loves art, use art throughout the new lesson. If he loves Egypt, have him research it, create a multimedia presentation, a website, a 3D model, a landscape portrait...etc. I hope this helps. I have found that once I get their interest with what they enjoy to do most, they really start to come around, but it takes a while.
