Lost it By 4THGRADETEACHER

| This is what I sometimes don't understand about teaching. We are told to document, document, document to cover our behinds if something becomes an issue. Then we're told that our documentation is innappropriate. Isn't the child's behavior/speech the thing that is not appropriate? How else are you supposed to communicate the severity of the situation without using the actual words? I don't think you've lost perspective - I think you're dead on. That kind of behavior cannot be tolerated in a school setting. I think it is really sad the kind of language kids can get away with these days. I remember when I was in Elementary School and words like stupid, dumb, etc. were considered bad words and we were punished for saying them. What happened?
