We went to New Orleans last summer. We stayed in the Garden section of town just off St. Charles Street. We stayed in an old, historic mansion called Magnolia Mansion. Check out their website. It was a great place to stay! We rode the streetcar from our place to Bourbon Street--the French Quarter. At the French Quarter they have some good seafood restaurants. If you like noise at night and action, stay in a place on Bourbon Street. If you prefer quiet, stay at a place like Magnolia Mansion. Take a riverboat cruise with jazz band and dinner. The steamboat Natchez does that each evening. Go visit Jean Lafitte Park and see the alligators as you walk along the trail. Take your mosquito netting or insect spray. They have a lot of the critters, and they carry the Nile Virus.

Have a great time in New "Awlins'."
