    A suggestion

If you are applying locally, I would not email resumes at all. Take them there. Try to meet the principal. If you can't get the principal, then see the OH-SO-POWERFUL school secretary. She will then say, "Mrs. Jones came by today with this resume (which of course is outstanding) and I was REALLY IMPRESSED with her attitude, demeanor, enthusiasm, professional dress, etc.(none of which can be relayed through email.)"BTW, her kids go here and she is just thrilled with our program." Then, attend every school function until the end of the year to get in the principal's face. (Don't forget the assistant principal. I was hired by the assistant.) Near the beginning of the "season" take your resume there again. (You were on their mind, but principals are busy people blah, blah...) Put your resume in their faces again. Next thing you know, you'll be employed.

    Best wishes!!
