Definately make use of the cabinet and window space to display student work! One idea....For my cabinets, I cover them with butcher paper and then create a large mural dealing with the theme. Sometimes I create a huge world map, other times I draw pictures of significant figures of the time period we are studying...whatever...then I usually display the essays that the kids wrote dealing with that subject. For the windows I usually just display any type of work that I would put on the bulletin boards. Sometimes I get a bit more creative and have kids do their final work on overhead transparencies. This way, when they are hanging in the sunny window, it makes a cool display. If you can invest in a staple gun, that also makes hanging things on walls a bit easier (although you may need permission for this one!!) Hope these ideas give you something to jump off on.
