Congrats on beginning you student teaching. It is so exciting. You are almost finished. Soon you will have your own classroom. Some advice I have is to make the most of your experience. Do observations, ask for ideas and suggestions, become involved in the entire process. The more you make yourself involved and act like it is your classroom, the easier it will be for you to have your own classroom. I wouldn't say that it would be needed for you to stay until the teacher leaves everyday, but I wouldn't plan on leaving right when school gets out. Some teachers stay forever and I wouldn't expect a student teacher to stay late just because I was there. As long as he/she got all of his/her work finished it would be fine if he/she left. I do agree it all depends on the presentation. Saying are we done yet is not a great way to leave the classroom. Good luck and have a great time. I love second grade.
