So, I called her at work. Mind you, this was only about 30 minutes after she had left the message. When I got through to her, she said, "Why are you calling ME?" as though it's the strangest thing in the world for your son's teacher to call you. I said, "I'm returning your call." She said, "Did I call you?" "Yes," I said, wishing I had just ignored this message and eaten my lunch instead. Then she starts screaming at me, literally screaming! Who knows what her office coworkers thought! She just yelled and yelled about how I wasn't ever to call her at work, etc. I just didn't know what to say. I mean, the message said specifically to call her at work. Then, after she was done yelling, she said that she just wanted to know how her son is doing. And when I started to tell her, she started in again about how she can't talk to me at work. So, I said I'd write her a letter. Which I have yet to do because, heck, she probably doesn't even remember we had the conversation on the phone, anyway. Anyway, I enjoyed the rest of your stories because it made me realize that we all have stories like this and it isn't just me.
