Although I understand and empathize with your frustration, I can understand the necessity of this most recent move too. This happened to our support teachers about a month into last school year too. The bottom line is that there is another entire class that needs to fit in the school. It is somewhat more reasonable to have 12 kids in the back of the library during their support time than to have that whole class of (conservatively) 25 kids. Our resource teachers eventually came to the conclusion that they should request that they be given the various empty small conference rooms, larger storage rooms that weren't being used and the old nurse's room. It took some convincing, but they eventually were granted these spaces and, with some work, have created some lovely little spaces for small group ESL and special ed classes. Maybe this could work in your school?
