I do my guided reading about three times a week. I divide my students into groups of four and let them rotate from center to center. (I spend Seoptember, teaching students how to work at various centers-they are often generic games that can easily be changed to suit the subject.)I sit at the 'guided reading' center and have students spend 15-25 minutes at each center. When the time is up, I ring a bell and the students rotate to the next center. I stay where I am at the guided reading center. The hard part is to have the students who are not working with you work independently at their own centers. Use computer games and easy generic board games like Bingo.
