    SPEDS

Wow what a concept! I am also the one that gets all the Special Ed. kids. This past year I had 30 kids, 7 of them Sp. Ed. The other two teachers at my grade level had 26 kids each! I don't think the other teachers understand what is involved in having these kids in our rooms. They only see the resource teacher for reading and sometimes math. That means that I have them for all other subjects. This limits what I can do with the other kids, because I have to keep in mind the limited capabilities of the sp. ed. kids. It has a huge effect on pacing my lessons. It makes a very big difference in what I can and cannot do with my class, such as in group work and projects. It would be awesome if your proposal could actually become a reality, but you know that the other teachers would have a fit, complaining about how unfair it is to them!
