I vary my homework format but really like to do a Tic Tac Toe Board. I put three math activities, three reading activities and three language/spelling activities on the board...Give it to them on Monday and it is due back the next Monday. They are required to do three in a row and two more...but they may choose what they do.and which way they do the three in a row. .They can also get extra credit for more than five. I have had little complaint from parents and the kids love the feeling that they have a choice. Mix them up though so they have to do a little of all of it and cannot just do reading or math etc.
