eating in my classroom

I would be really upset by this. My "prep" period is last thing in the day. Now we all know that no "prep" goes on during a prep period, rather I am getting things ready for the kids to take home, correcting homework to send home, checking folders... well I can't do this over my prep because my kids leave right from specials. So when do I do it... you guessed it, over my lunch. I gobble down bites of my food while trying to read notes from home, correct papers, pass out what ever I need to send home, etc. If I was forced to eat lunch in the teacher's lounge I would really be missing my prep. and nothing would get done. Sorry... but I am one of those teachers that uses my lunch for work. I would love to relax and chat with others but it isn't an option. I wonder what your principal will say when teachers start to complain that they work over lunch.
