Let's be realistic, and I think most teachers are. We dress for the classroom one way and we dress for "meetings" another way. When I am in the classroom, I am in pants and shirt. When I am having a conference or meeting that day, I dress up a bit, but still remain in pants because I have to still teach that day. When I have parent teacher conferences and home visits, days when I am not teaching from sitting on the floor, I wear dresses and pant suits. I really think that most parents understand the reasoning behind our more casual appearances on certain days (like field trip days!). As long as we appear professional during meetings, etc. I think we're ok.
