I put the words and defintions on laminated strips, precut puzzle pieces, cards, or whatever. Then I randomly hand them out. Some students have a word and some a defintion. Then they have to all walk around the room and find their partner. The only catch is that they have to find a way to communicate with the person they think is their match without saying anything. They might point to the person and the person shake his head yes or no if they think they match or not. After I have given them a set amount of time, I call time and they must stop and stand with their partner in a big circle. We go around the circle and they have to tell why they think they match. We give them a thumbs up or a thumbs down.
This is simple but my kids love it and it gets them out of their seats for a little bit.
