    All about me

    I recently based an entire 8 week unit plan on creating a class book where each child contributed with an "All about me" page. I used a variety of resources, although -
    "Children Just Like Me - A unique celebration of children around the world" A Dorling Kindersley Book by Barnabas and Anabel Kindersley in association with United Nations Children's Fund, 1995, Great Britain: Dorling Kindersley Limited.
    - was a valuable resource in discussing the special and unique aspects of each child and it helped create an idea for the children about what makes them special and the types of information they would put on their own page. I also provided the opportunity for the children create a 3D back pack that they filled with their interests, hobbies and talents. They did this by making a backpack (from construction card) that suited their style and then they wrote, painted and cut out things they believe represent them - their individuality.
    These were two of the activities that we participated in during the 8 weeks.
