Our district has been using a program called, "Type to Learn" for the past three years. It's a good one, the kids aren't real happy with it but I think any typing program is going to be a bit boring. This one does, however have, "game breaks" in it. We just recently purchased, for $10.00 apiece, something called skins. These are placed over the keys so the kids can't look at the keys while they type. I think they will be very helpful. All our kids, from 1st grade on up are required by the district to use this program for 30 minutes per week.
