word wall option By Julianne
|
| My partner and I usually prepare a set of new sight word cards for each student and use one of those papers to cut up and hang on our word wall. We do a new set of 5 or 6 words every week, adding to our word wall as we go along. We've used ribbon hung from the alphabet letters this year, fixing the words on with clothes pins. That way the kids can remove a word, use it and return it. If one happens to get damaged or lost, we can just make a new copy. And next year we put up the same words in the same order. Works for first grade. Older grades, where you already have words you want on your word wall at the beginning of the school year probably would be best served with laminated or purchased word sets.
