    group interviews

In my experience, there are two types of "group interviews". I have had the kind where the 'group' is the principal, asst. principal, and other teachers, parents, etc. Usually they take turns asking the questions and you answer them (making sure to make eye contact with everybody).

The other kind of 'group interview' has been more stressfull, in my experience. That's the kind where you and three or four other candidates are interviewed at the same time. Sometimes you take turns going first (you all answer the same question). The last group interview I went to had a different format where the question was asked, and then it was a free-for-all 'discussion' among the candidates for a six-minute time limit.

Just don't be afraid to 'toot your own horn' and sell yourself in either case. Most of the interviews I have gone to have been the type where the 'group' is the faculty, instead of the candidates, but I got the job following a 4-candidate-at-a-time-interview. Hope that helps--good luck!
