I noticed from your post you stated your district uses 6 + 1 Trait Writing Model. My district does not use it, however I have heard so much about it I decided to try it this past school year. I did not have much success because I never went to any workshop on it. Do you think it is necessary to attend a workshop to get the full understanding? Can you recommend some sites or books I could use to get a better grasp of the model. Also what negative and positive aspects did you find with the model? I am trying to figure out a way to incorporate next year because I feel there are some good strategies for the students to learn. Also are there any literature books you recommend to enhance the strategies?
