    Hi I am an elementary Art teacher from Australia with just a few ideas for you;

    * Any type of rattle is very easy to create as you just need a sturdy sealable container (cardboard tubes, plastic bottles, tin cans, boxes are all good for this) and small hard objects to put inside eg;rice, dried beans, etc...

    * Rainstick - check out the following site;
    www.track0.com/canteach/elementary/visart16.html

    * Paper plate tamborine - see this site;
    www.familycrafts.about.com/library/projects/blmusicc2.html

    * twirling drums - can be made from two paper plates stuck together on a stick for the handle and with two strings with a bead on the end of them, which when twirled will rotate and hit the sides of the drum (plates). May be worth checking out a site for these too as it was very popular with the young kids I did it with.

    Hope this can be of some help.
    Geoff
