Stand up for what you want

Hi Madeline, I am sorry to hear that you are having a real hard time with leaving your current school. First of all, I don't think that you should let anyone tell you where you can teach. I know that sometimes us teachers become full of guilt just because an administrator makes a comment to us. But we also need to make sure that we stand up for what we want. I would put in for the transfer and if it is meant to be then you will have schools begging for you. I don't think that you should have to leave the teaching profession at this point- you sound like a dedicated teacher that needs a change. We all go through that time in our careers. I have a feeling that if you leave the teaching field now, you will not be happy and have a harder time when you want to return. I know that the school board website has listings of new jobs for the Palm Beach County. They stopped printing the weekly notices about vacancies because it was too expensive. Please think real hard about your choices, we are losing so many good teachers because of the same reason. Stay in there and be strong for what you want.
