I subbed in a class that was so awesome, I really couldn't beleive my eyes. It was a straight grade 3, and a experienced teacher (male). Those kids were so clear on their routines, so clear on expectations, that when I took them to the gym, I jokingly looked behind me to see if they were still there (not a peep out of them)! In the gym, and as you all know gym can be wild, they automatically sat on the red line, and while I got the equipment ready, I turned to look at them, and not one was talking, each child sitting with legs crossed, hands on lap........well, I couldn't beleive my eyes. I walked up to them, and jokingly asked if they were feeling ok, or everyone was sick....and why was no one talking...and how awesome they were...they smiled, telling me (with their hands raised, that they aren't allowed to talk unless they raise their hands.....anyhow I praised them and continued to have a great day. This teacher has his students in rows, and all systems are so tightly in place that and children respond so well! Just thought I would share that!
