The way I feel about any choice I make that is "outsie" the curriculum is "How much am I willing to fight for this?" If you feel strongly that this should be included, maybe you should go the more formal route and have the approval process begun by presenting it to your princioal, then school commitee etc.. If you don't want to do this, then be ready for a fight, but again, if you are willing to fight for what you believe to be an educationally sound decison with a well formed rationale, then that is your choice.
