I have struggled with teaching my 1st graders money until recently. Lets face it, the students aren't going to learn it unless they use it!! From here on out, my students need to "pay" for everything. Recess, lunch, snack, free time, etc. I have a bag of play money and they have to show me the correct amount, and count it out loud. It seems to be working well. They forget so easily but this way, they are using it every day and I think it will stick to it!Good Luck
