Folders vs. binders By Sharon in Ca
|
| I have taught 4th grade for 15 years and used folders for each subject for most of them. It was still hard to keep many kids organized because the just shoved papers into desks, even though the folder was out when something was passed out. A few years ago I switched to binders with pocket dividers (with tabs). This way students do not have to open and close rings unless they choose that method. The majority of students simply slide the work into the folder instead. This has worked the best for me, but you will still always have those students who insist on cramming their desks full of anything and everything. Be sure you caution the students and the parents about cleaning the binders out so that papers meant to be kept aren't thrown out. Good luck!
