I would have to agree with the majority. By punishing this student you are only making her wish come true. Her intent is to get under your skin. Try not to let her know that she has done that. The best you can do if the situation really bothers you is to pull her aside, in private and threaten to call her parents and even set up a meeting with them about this inappropriate behavior she has been showing. I personally would just ignore it, and in a very short time, I'm sure it will pass.
