The first thing you have to do is assess the kiddos' current spelling abilities. The test is in the book and so are the directions for figuring out how to determine what grouping you need to do. Once you have your groups formed the rest is simple. Day one - introduce words and group, day two - speed sort, day three - look for words with similar spelling patterns in personal reading and write them down for teacher to check, day four - sort again and glue words into composition book for at home study. Day five - test. Hope this helps! I had a literacy coach at our school demonstrate it for me the first time and then I flew with it. I also spent a good bit of time reading the book for extra help.
