    This is my first year using it. I made it really simple for myself since it can be overwhelming. I only have 3 groups. I don't move the kids out of groups because then they will miss skills that the other groups have already done. On Monday, the kids write their words in their planner, cut out their word cards (each group's words is on a different color sheet) and they meet with me so I can go over their patterns for the week. On Tuesday, they sort their word cards and write down their sort in their word study notebook. On Wednesday, they write their words in a list in their notebook. Then they do Look. Say. Write. Check. for each word. So if the word is cat, they look at the word, say it to themselves, write it down and check it if they spelled it correctly. On Thursday they do a blind sort with their word study partner. Friday is the test. I only test them on 10 words. While one group is testing, the other two read quietly until it's their turn.
