Typically, I REALLY don't like worksheets, but end up using them more than I'd like. At my tiny private school, we're encouraged to 'use the workbooks' because parents paid for them. So, this year I didn't order all the workbooks.;)
I MUCH prefer foldables and active things, but do the best I can keeping first graders productive as I work with second graders.
I just spent 4 hrs at school and got my Take It To Your Seat centers reorganized. I prefer that way of doing things, too.
