They show the partner part of the whole and the partner tells what is hidden.Check by counting. 3.Buttons under the rug: using an agreed upon number for the total, child covers some with a rug (construction paper) and asks partner"How many are hiding?" You can also use various counters instead of buttons( animals, bears etc. They always record by drawing a T chart or I give them a recording sheet.
