    EA & religion

    I worked as a teacher at a private school for a few years. When I interviewed, I was asked about my "home church" and my attendance there. Although I was not the same religion as the school (we are both Protestants), they wanted to know that I was attending church somewhere regularly with a Christian foundation (my EA was Catholic). Our church activities were discussed informally and regularly.

    EAs were hired by the Director and Asst Dir. Teachers did not participate in the interviews at that school. My EA did not do a lot of teaching/ small groups. She was tasked with clerical/organizing for the grade level, lunch duty, drop off and pick up, preparing for hands-on activities, and filling in where needed. She worked mostly mornings so she could work on her teaching degree in the afternoons. She was extremely organized and could quickly anticipate teachers' needs.
