I think it all just depends on the lesson. Some weeks I might read a different trade book every day, and other weeks I may focus on the same book each day. I've never read an entire picture book every day during a week, but I may reread certain sections or do extension lessons. It does make vocabulary more difficult. I ended up doing vocabulary more doing my reading groups. However, if you wanted to do the whole group I guess you'd just pull your words from your trade books.
