Next- I make them make a chart of their senses, and they brainstorm in groups/as a class good words to put in each category. Then- they get a bag and two notecards, on card is the description of the item in the bag (describing it's properties) and the other is a card they lay next to it for guesses. The kids write their clues and put their bag in the front of the room. All 5 or so groups do this, then we all walk around and guess what's in the bag based on descriptions. Lastly- we come back together as a class and talk about the descriptions, which were good clues and descriptions, which ones were too vague/non specific to the item. We talked about using words like big/small (different for everybody) good/bad (not a characteristic of the object), etc. I've also just given each group the same item and challenged them to come up with the most words to describe that object, say a penny... and we do the same thing, talk about all of the different senses, and good ways to describe objects.
