    Discipline

I like DDD's idea about the teams. You could relate this to sports teams or have students name their teams. I have seen teachers use a race track with small toy cars. For small classes each student can have a car but for larger classes you could make pit crews of 5-6 students. When a student or pit crew crosses the finish line they earn an award.

Few years ago, I had a science class at the end of the day after they had p.e. To keep behavior under control I kept a jar and placed a piece of candy for each time they were caught being good. At the end of the week the candy was divided among the students. Sometimes I would surprise them after a good class and let them take 2 to 3 pieces. You can buy 4-6 lbs. of assorted candy for about $4. Halloween is a good time to buy candy for this activity.

I had forgotten those ideas until DDD's post. It is surprising how many ideas we have used over the years to help with classroom behavior.
