What makes me happy

is the "theme" that ties my room together. Since I spend many hours of my life in that space, I pick out stuff that is visually pleasing to me. I love elephants, and my at-school collection has grown over the years. I want my kids to realize that the world extends far beyond our little town, so we use lots of maps. Words fascinate me, and each year we create lists/posters of interesting words . My kids produce awesome & creative work, so their projects fill in any available spaces.
Do you know the book The Big Orange Splot? I read it early in the year every year -- my room is to me like Mr. Plumbean's house is to him :).
