I've had similar thoughts but then I've read other intermediate teachers who are doing it and the kids are liking it, so I'm going to try what it says the first time. I thought I'd use informational text to read the pictures. Seems like it would make more sense to 5th grade. I've used anchor charts before and I think we have to be careful not to do it ad nauseum. I will pick and choose carefully. Keep sharing your experience with a 5th grade title, that way I can find what's appropriate to read right away.
