I have two sets of the drawers... By Sunflower123
|
| and I LOVE them!!! Mine are the colored drawers and I have one unit that stacks up all 10 drawers in a row and the other unit stacks the colored drawers side by side, 6 and 6. I have these units up on my countertop and kids do not touch them.
I find them to be sturdy, as I have a piece of plywood on top of the 6/6 drawers unit with my classroom TV on top! I used my label maker and labeld each drawer Monday - Friday (with the 6 stack I left the bottom drawer blank) and I use these for making my lesson plans four weeks at a time. I grab my plan book and look at my tentative schedule for those weeks, including stories to be taught from the basal, skills involved, math concepts, science, social studies, holidays, etc. Then I head to my file cabinet, pull the folders that contain these materials and go through them pulling trade books, worksheet guides, samples, etc and putting them in each drawer as I plan to use them. Now I leave out these folders in a milk crate stored in a cabinet under where the little drawer units are housed so that I can put everything back in its original place to be used again next year. I use a yellow lined pad to write notes to myself of where larger items that won't fit in the drawer are housed and I leave that paper in the drawer - this way it jogs my memory as to where to find a needed supply for that day. Hope this helps :p
