I've laminated my tags in the past and used them for lockers. I have a set I used for 2 years when I taught 1st and I could easily get at least one more year out of them. After I laminated them I wrote their names on them with Sharpie. If you make a mistake dry erase spray or rubbing alcohol will take it off, the dry erase doesn't come off easily at all. After all the names were on I put magnets on the back and I was good to go.
